Some days it is hard enough to find the strength to get out of bed, let alone keep on being human. On other days, there is nothing as marvelous as being a human, experiencing all the joys and wonders the world has to offer.
Lately, all I want to do is cry, cry my heart out. But I know if I give in, if I start crying, there will be no way out. No way back. And, so I keep on going, stoically, with my head up, and my heart down, down in the mud.
Sometimes the things we feel can feel so overwhelming, like there is no way out but to burst. And sometimes the things we feel make us mellow, unable to move even if our life depended on it.
I've always thought that to start anew one has to burn down all the bridges to stop the past catching up with the present. It turns out the trick is not to burn down the bridges rather to shut all the doors to the past, shut them hard, and, most of all, keep them shut no matter how hard and how often the past comes on knocking.
